Library Board
Unless rescheduled, the Library Board meets monthly at the library on the third Tuesday of the month at 5:15 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. Agenda packets are published in accordance with Nebraska's Open Meetings Act. Beginning with December 2023 meetings, agenda packets can be viewed at this link.

The Library Board consists of seven members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Library Board members shall be residents of the city of Grand Island. Neither the mayor nor any member of the city council shall be a member of the Library Board. Terms of office shall be a four (4) year period, with board positions terminating on June 30 of the year their respective term expires. In case of vacancies by resignation, removal, or otherwise, the mayor and city council shall make appointments to fill such vacancies for the unexpired term. No board member shall receive any pay or compensation for any services rendered as a member of the board. No board member shall be elected for more than two successive [full] terms. Application Form
